My story starts like this:
Samantha is a photographer and passionate nature lover who started a photography business in 2009 from the ashes of a divorce, as a single mom of 2, with $20-something dollars left in her account.
But the real origin story goes back to the 1980’s, to a curious girl infatuated with National Geographic magazine, mythology, art, and fairy tales. . .
to a woman deeply fascinated with legacy, impact, and the imprint we leave on the world.
Being a photographer has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I look forward to working with you, whether that is to create images that are alive with the essence of your love, purpose, and legacy, or if it’s to help build a life and business infused with the essence of love, joy, fulfillment, and purpose.

Why Photography?
You needed over 4,000 people to exist, meet, fall in love, and create babies for you to even to be alive. You are a MIRACLE.
And that miracle happens with no repeats - each person a singular, signature, unique individual, with a unique and complex story.
To me, that is the most magical thing of all - worth celebrating and dedicating my life to documenting.
My Why originates from the fascination I have with that magic - the meaning we make of our lives, the interconnectedness of us all, the intertwining with our environments, and how place is deeply tied to identity, roots, family, and who we become…
What I love most about photography is that it documents our shared human experience, distilled down into a single second - our joy, our pain, our triumphs - and tells the stories of Us, both collectively and individually.
That is something that feels like a worthy legacy of my own: documenting and preserving our life’s stories.
